Many of the changes introduced in WordPress 4.6 Pepper (named after the Jazz musician, Pepper Adams) are designed to help this Content Management System run faster.
That alone has to be a great reason to install the update straight away!
1. Updates have been streamlined
All updates and installs are now completed on one screen so you never need to lose your place. Stay on the same page while you update, install, and delete any plugins and themes.

2. WordPress uses native fonts for faster loading
The WordPress admin dashboard now takes advantage of the fonts you already have on your computer or tablet, making it load faster and letting you feel more at home on whatever device you use.
3. Useful Inline Link Checker
If you’ve ever accidentally incorrectly made a link, you’ll know how annoying it is to only realsie when a visitor points it out to you. Now WordPress automatically checks links to make sure that they work and alerts you if you make an error. Very neat!

4. Better Content Recovery
Recovering saved content is even easier with WordPress 4.6.
WordPress now saves your content locally to your browser as you type. If you lose your internet connection whilst updating a page or adding a post, WordPress saves a draft and when you regain internet connection it notifies you that a more recent backup is available.

5. Performance and Stability Improvements
In addition, the Pepper version of WordPress includes a raft of improvements to make it run faster and to improve stability. So what are you waiting for? Time to update!
