  • If you collect any kind of information about visitors to your website, whether from your customers or potential customers, you must register under the Data Protection Act .
    This information includes names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses.
  • You must provide a statement on what you do and intend to do with your subject's data and not deviate from that statement.
  • The Data protection Act applies to all sizes of business.
  • You are not permitted to export the personal data you collect outside the EC (European Community) without the express permissionfrom the people you are collecting data on.
  • You must ensure that all informationyou collect is held securely and you must be reveal or delete the information if requested to do so by the subject of the information.
  • You must only record data which is pertinent to your business needs.
