Joomla! 1.5 calls individual page content “Articles”.
Editing the text or images in any existing article page is as simple as using a word processing package such as Word.
Firstly, Log into your admin panel with the username and password you were given. This will take you to your online admin console.
To edit any of the existing pages on your Joomla! website, look on the admin console navigation bar and choose “Content” then “Article Manager”.
You will see a list of all the article pages which already exist. These are often listed in batches of 20. You will see the display options at the bottom of the page. You can choose “all” to see all your article pages.
You may search the list if you cannot spot the one you are looking for using the filter.
Simply click on any article title to edit the content.
To unpublish a page (to take it off the website, but keep it for later) click on the green tick under the heading “publish”. This will turn the tick to a cross.
To reactivate it, just click again.
When you open the article to edit it, you will see a WYSIWYG editor which will look very similar to the one you might use in a word processing package such as Word. You will be able to highlight text and make it bold (B), italic (I) etc. Do not use underline (U) as this signifies a link when used online. If you add a link to text in an article, the underlining will be added automatically.
You will also see that the article has been set up to use styles specific to your own website. If you use these to style the text and headings you will keep the styling on your site consistent.
